PANEER BUTTER RECIPE

Another popular dish from Indian cuisine, paneer butter masala. Although, it is easy to make, but people complain that it doesn’t come out like the restaurant-style. Here is a recipe that will help you in making restaurant style paneer butter masala.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Servings: 2

Ingredients:
  • 250g Paneer (cut into medium-size cubes)
  • 1 medium-sized onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp Coriander (Dhania) powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce/ketchup
  • 1 pinch kasuri methi/dried fenugreek leaves
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves
Preparation Instructions:
  • Heat a pan, add 2 tbsp oil and fry paneer cubes till they become golden brown. Set them aside on a tissue paper to absorb oil.
  • In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tbsp oil and fry onions to make them golden brown.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a minutes.
  • Now add coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and salt. Fry the spices, but don’t burn them.
  • Add tomato paste, ketchup and kasuri methi to it. Cook the tomatoes till they become soft.
  • Now, add milk and cook for 5 minutes under cover.
  • After 5 minutes, add fried paneer cubes and the cream. Mix well and simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Take it off from the stove and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Tips:
  • The color of the dish will be different from that of the restaurant style paneer butter masala. To get the same color you can add red food color to the dish while you add spices.
  • You can also replace paneer with tofu.
